An Open Letter to Skeptics:

Soul Mates Do Exist

I was watching an episode of the Montel show some time ago and his special guest, Sylvia Browne, brought up a very interesting conversation about soul mates.  She basically said that soul mates are not to be found until we pass over and what soul mates we encounter in this lifetime are called “kindred spirits” and nothing more.

While this guest is highly respected in the psychic community and her qualifications are credible, I found this hard to believe.

I have been coaching singles about soul mates and have written many  books on the subject.  While I may not be as notable as Sylvia Browne,  I feel that through my experiences, I have found that we do indeed have  soul mates of all kinds that come to us while we are still living.  Soul  mates are alive and well in this lifetime and every lifetime after that. 

In her interview with Montel, she stated that we have met our soul mate in this life and others, but we cannot be with them until we pass over.

Now, this is partly true.  But, let me explain first the three kinds of soul  mates:

Karmic Soul Mate—

Karmic soul mates are those you encounter in this lifetime for a certain reason.  They may or may not be romantically inclined and in most cases, they’re not.  They could be a co-worker, friend, or even your own mother.  They are put on this earth solely for you to learn something from them or they learn something from you.

Companion Soul Mates—

Companion soul mates are more romantically inclined.  They could be your husband, wife, or lover and are very important soul mates to have.  Companion soul mates come into your life for intimacy and companionship.    

 

Twin Flames—

Twin Flames are basically your “other half”.  You may or may not meet them in this lifetime.  I have found many cases where twin flames are very hard to recognize as well as find.  The reason behind this is that they are your “ultimate” soul mate—not that the others aren’t just as significant—and requires a lot of work from both parties to stay together.   

A fourth case of soul mates is something I’m researching right now.  I believe that there is a fourth category—Group Souls.  Think about it.  Out of the millions of internet users, don’t you feel a close bond with a certain group of people?  They can be from different parts of the country, yet you feel this same spiritual bond with all of them at once.  It’s as if they are all classified under one heading.  Maybe one or two of them particularly you are close to; but basically, they all have the same importance in your life.

Now, with that said, are we to believe that out of all the different categories of soul mates, there is not ONE that we are more linked to than just a karmic influence?  

I shudder at the thought.

For one thing, you have to understand the meanings of “kindred souls” and “soul mates.”  Although they are closely linked in importance and characteristics, kindred souls are but one form of soul mates and are basically what I would call the karmic soul mates.

Karmic soul mates are everywhere.  They can be in the form of your Aunt Minnie who taught you right from wrong or can even be in the form of that furry companion down by your feet, but what about those mates who go beyond the kindred stage?  What classification would you put the one you marry?  Would he or she not be your soul mate because they are not on a kindred soul mate basis?

Of course not.

What we need to remember is that there are varying kinds of soul mates.  Just as all people are different, your soul mates are different, also, and come into your life for very important reasons.  These reasons are essential to your self-growth and should not be ignored.

So, the next time someone tells you that soul mates do not exist, ask them if they have ever felt a spiritual feeling toward someone in their lifetime.  My bet is that they have not only felt this once, but many times.  

Soul mates are alive and well and are found in all phases of life.  Don’t give up on the notion of finding yours.  All you have to do is open your eyes and your heart and they shall appear.
